To give underprivileged children of our Sundarbans a real bench to sit on, proper infrastructure to study by and classrooms worthy of their dreams.
Our teachers are brilliant, our students gifted- yet they sit on the floor without proper infrastructure. Help us give them classrooms their talent deserves.
No child this talented should have to sit on the floor in the dark just to learn.
Every morning, thousands of children in the remote islands of the Sundarbans walk to school carrying nothing but hope. They dream of becoming teachers, doctors, artists, engineers, and change makers. But for many, the biggest obstacle isn’t a lack of talent, it’s the lack of a proper school. Many underprivileged schools in the region struggle with inadequate infrastructure, no proper furniture, unreliable electricity, and no engaging learning spaces. Yet these children show up every day with bright smiles and an eagerness to learn.
At Vrikshit Foundation Kolkata, we believe no child’s future should be limited by the condition of their classroom. This year, as we take on the JBG Kolkata Marathon, we run with a purpose far greater than crossing the finish line. Every kilometre is dedicated to transforming the learning experience of underprivileged children in the Sundarbans, creating safe, vibrant, child-friendly schools with better infrastructure and smart learning spaces.
Your contribution is not just a donation. It is a promise to a child that they matter, a chance to replace limitations with opportunities. Every amount counts: Rs 50 buys a library book, Rs 500 a year of school supplies, Rs 10,000 a science kit, and Rs 20,000 a computer lab laptop. Run with us, stand with us, and help build brighter futures for the children of the Sundarbans.
